FONZ Tyre Pressure Sensors

Features and functions of the FONZ tyre pressure sensors including effects of temperature, tolerance

Arthur tyre pressure sensors (TPMS)  monitor the pressure in the front and rear tyres. The PSI readouts are displayed on the digital dashboard. After powering on, it will take a few minutes for the reading to be displayed on the dashboard.

Temperature Effects on Tyre PSI

The tyre pressure will fluctuate with temperature changes. As a rule of thumb, when the temperature decreases by 10°C, tyre pressure will drop around 1 psi. Likewise, this pressure shift can be seen as the tyres heat up from riding, you could expect a shift of 1-4 psi on a 30 minute commute.

Tolerance

FONZ tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) sensors have a tolerance of around ±1.5 psi (0.103 bar). This means the displayed pressure can vary slightly from the actual pressure within this range. The TPMS system trigger a warning light when tyre pressure drops below or above the threshold of the recommended pressure.

TPMS are fitted to new Arthur 7 models and later. Arthur 6 can have tyre pressure sensors fitted when upgrading to the MY25 digital display.

TPMS sensors are a direct system, located in place of the valve. It may become damaged by incidents such as hitting a curb, riding through a pothole, or riding on unsealed roads.
