Learn about the various charging options for NKD Electric Motorcycle
NKD
There are three options to charge the NKD including External Charge Port (ECP), Fast Onboard and Indoor Charging.
1. External Charge Port (ECP)
External Charge Port (ECP) is compatible with the Mini, Premium and Fast Charger. The ECP is not compatible with the Onboard Charger. When using the ECP you will plug from your standard household power outlet (240V) to the Charger to the external charge port on the side of the bike (see diagram below)
Mini charger
External compact mini charger. Connect Charger between a standard power outlet (240V) to the external charging port of the vehicle.
375W. Charge times vary by model.
Premium charger
External compact charger (2.5X faster). Connect Charger between a standard power outlet (240V) to the external charging port of the vehicle. Charge times vary by model.
950W. Charge times vary by model.

⚠ WARNING: ECP is not compatible with the Onboard Charger.
2. Onboard Fast Charging
Durable and waterproof onboard fast charger (Type 2)
Wall Connector works in conjunction 5X Onboard Fast Charger to charge at home with single phase 240V Power. Max 1800W onboard charger. Type 2
⚠ WARNING Onboard Charger is not compatible with External Charging Port.
3. Charging Indoors
NKDa has a portable Powerpack designed to charge indoors. Charging indoors is compatible with the Mini and Premium charger.
Other Powerpack models are designed to charge directly via External Charging Port (ECP).
- NKDs is designed to charge with the powerpack installed in the vehicle. The Powerpack may be removed if required to charge indoors
- NKD+ is designed to charge with the powerpack installed in the vehicle. The Powerpack may be removed to charge indoors
- NKDx Powerpack is not designed to remove from vehicle.
Removing the Powerpack
- Insert the key into saddle opening keyhole
- Lift the saddle plate
- Turn off the bike prior to removing or charging Powerpack
- Ensure PowerPack safety switch is set to the OFF position (NKDa only)
- Use handle to lift PowerPack out of bike
⚠ WARNING Make sure the voltage from the AC outlet matches that required by the charger (240V). Fonz is not responsible for any improper operation.
